Surrounded by computers and internet all the time when at work, in university labs or when browsing internet from your home. During long sessions we come across some really good websites and solutions and add them to our bookmarks but as soon as you switch PC your favorites bookmarks are gone. Its very difficult to manage your bookmarks on multiple PC’s but not anymore if you are a firefox fan. One can easily synchronize his/her bookmars by installing a little extension called foxmarks and signing up for an account in foxmarks.com. You probable already know about other solutions like google browser sync and del.icio.us but both of them are very heavy for a dial up user with a distortion in phone line where foxmarks works like a breeze.
Try foxmarks extension for yourself and give me your feedback on this post.
Bye Everyone
thanks for reading

For all of those who just downloaded Firefox 1.5 and can’t get your extensions to work. This is a simple modification of Firefox’s configuration to trick the extensions to work. No need to manually edit the extensions to get them to work. Currently all the extensions I use work except the bookmark sync extension that I so dearly want to.
1. At the location bar, enter: about:config. This will show you a list of Firefox internal preferences.
2. Right-click on the list, select New > String
Enter “app.extensions.version (without quotes) for the preference name.
3. Then, enter “1.0 (without quotes) as the value for app.extensions.version.
4. Restart Firefox 1.5, then enable those disabled Firefox extensions.
5. Restart Firefox 1.5 again to active the extensions. Done.

Here’s something for broadband people that will really speed Firefox up:
1.Type “about:config” into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:
network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.
2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true”
Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true”
Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.
3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0″. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.
If you’re using a broadband connection you’ll load pages MUCH faster now!

Firefox version 1.5 released today I have downloaded this latest version from http//:www.mozila.org
New features include a drag and drop for tabbed browsing, a better pop up blocker algorithm, and a reference search engine which includes answer.com, a better live bookmark feature, and an improved option interface.
The software also includes an auto update system when security patches need to be applied or additional features become available.
Mozilla also said that performance is better because of a next generation rendering and layout engine. Mozilla said there are now 700 extensions to Firefox. More are expected in the coming weeks.
